Workshop with Oksana Zhelisko-
Value and Colour in Landscape (Oils or Acrylics)Focus: Composition, Tone, Limited Palette, and Expressive Brushwork
Join us for an immersive two-day painting workshop exploring the beauty and subtlety of winter landscapes, using either oils or acrylics. Designed for intermediate painters or enthusiastic beginners, this class will guide you through the process of creating atmospheric winter scenes with strong composition, tonal clarity, and a refined, limited colour palette.
Day One – Foundations & Preparation We begin with a focus on the building blocks of successful painting, followed by a small monochromatic value study and colour mixing.
Day Two – Full Painting: A Winter Scene
With your groundwork in place, you'll move on to developing a finished winter landscape painting. Using your studies as a guide, you'll work with a limited palette to maintain harmony and mood. The session will emphasize unique brushwork techniques. Guidance will be offered throughout to help refine your piece and enhance your personal expression.
This workshop is designed to strengthen your artistic decision-making and deepen your understanding of tone, colour, and mark-making. You’ll leave with a completed painting and a toolkit of techniques to inspire future winter works.

WORKSHOP with JEAN PEDERSEN - Seductive Surfaces
Create texture and add depth to your paintings in this experimental workshop. Using a variety of acrylic mediums you will learn to build up interesting surfaces and intriguing grounds that can be used within your paintings or as a base for finished work.
We will explore techniques to achieve a variety of effects, including layering, texturizing, glazing and more, and then use these ideas to develop finished pieces. Bring ideas for subject matter that interest you, or work from the class demo.
Feel free to work on paper, canvas or wood - any surface you're comfortable working on (or would like to try). Other mixed media techniques may be explored, incorporated and applied during the course- collage, charcoal, drawing mediums, etc. This course is suitable for both abstract and representational artists.
