2024 Student Art Competition

The Art Society of Strathcona County first hosted the High School Art Show and Competition in 2000. It has been a steady fixture in our events and is directly connected to our ASSC Objectives to:

• To promote a greater awareness and appreciation of art within the Society and throughout Strathcona County
• To encourage visual art projects which will benefit all age groups residing in Strathcona County
• To bring together artists and persons interested in art
• To provide fellowship

This show is run by our member volunteers, is inclusive of all Strathcona County High School students, and is largely directed by the teachers in our five high schools. It takes many hours and lots of effort on everyone’s part to exhibit, award and show our local youth’s talent and innovative skills. Awards, ribbons and prize money, are given out after being juried and then exhibited in our building for the show weekend and then a County exhibition space for a year. Our local youth continued to astound everyone and make us proud!
