Meetings for Board Members are held on the first Wednesday of each month, from 6:30pm until approx 8pm. If you are not a member and wish to attend, please contact us for information.

This is your chance to view an artist's process, inspiration, AND creative space!  And, of course, you'll find many art treasures to purchase! 

In this free self-guided tour, local artists open their home studios to the public!  This successful art event is now in its eighth year.

Join us for a vibrant one-day floral painting workshop using acrylics! Designed for beginner and intermediate artists, this session explores expressive brushwork, rich textures with impasto, and playful techniques like paint dripping. You’ll complete at least two dynamic floral pieces, all while discovering how to infuse energy and emotion into your work. Experience is welcome but not required; just bring your creativity and a willingness to experiment. Let’s make bold, beautiful art and have a blast doing it!

A Unique Show and Art Sale to celebrate the Society's 40th Anniversary!  Titled The Threads that Connect Us, this exhibition will symbolize the continuity, unity, and vibrancy of our community's creative spirit as each piece will portray some aspect of Strathcona County and be united by a single flowing blue thread. Pastels are one of the most immediate and satisfying mediums to work in.  They can produce intense, vivid colours or soft and subtle shades.  In each session you will be able to experience different techniques using colour and composition that will add atmosphere and depth to your paintings. Learn how to push the colour to create vibrant paintings with ordinary photos.

There will be demos and plenty of one-on-one instruction. The first day we will be using suede board and the second day we will be using a sanded board upon which we will do an under painting. We will be using different techniques each day so come ready to have some fun and experiment.

This workshop explores abstract/realism combo concepts by combining watercolour and various inks, and participants learn the methods to apply them.  You can work from photos, if desired.  Skill level is fairly easy to intermediate.

Indulge your creativity with a colourful adventure in art!

Learn how to see things from a more imaginative

perspective, how to come up with ideas, and how to turn

them into whimsical images. Your idea will be planned,

sketched and refined on paper before you begin painting.

We’ll use composition, value, colour, texture and brushwork

to take you from concept to a colourful whimsical painting.

Colour is one of the great joys of painting. You’ll learn key

elements to making great colour.

Cindy will demonstrate using oils and will provide plenty of

personal one-on-one instruction and encouragement. You

should be familiar with the medium of your choice (oil or

acrylic).

For intermediate and experienced artists.  Not suitable for

beginners.
